The celebrations have begun.  Well, actually they are almost over now.  I started this post much earlier in the week and it’s been taking me quite a while to get thru it.  The celebrations have been tamed down this year since I’m going to be spending way too much time working.  Luckily I like my job but it still isn’t fun working from 6AM-8PM on your birthday!  My husband and I kicked off the celebrations with some champagne and a very yummy dinner which he made (and cleaned up after too!).  I had to rally a bit to make it thru the evening since I was so tired but it was worth it.  And fortunately, my birthday celebrations last all week.  The following evening was dinner with friends at one of my favorite Italian restaurants.  The restaurant is about an hour from our house and so, as a treat, my husband and I stayed over in a hotel across the street.  I loved every minute of it because I love staying in hotel rooms!  I’m not sure what the fascination is but I immediately feel like I am on a vacation no matter where I might be.  The next day I dragged my husband out of bed to go for a run with me.  After all, it was still my birthday week so he owed me a birthday run.  It was fun to explore some new areas.  We got back to the hotel, showered, checked out, and then headed off to breakfast.  We still had a few hours to kill before we needed to head to the Thanksgiving feast so after driving around for a bit we decided try some bowling.  I managed to bowl a 93, a new record for me.  That was after bowling a 41 and 63.  Obviously I am not a very good bowler.  You would think at some point luck would help me out right?  It’s still fun though and one of these days I WILL beat my husband (not that I’m competitive or anything!).   The next day I had to work again but my parents came over after and we opened presents and ate more sushi than you can imagine.  This weekend I plan on relaxing and catching up on life.  I have some fun workouts scheduled and one more birthday dinner.  We are heading to Chifa, which is Jose Garces’ new restaurant.  Since he just won The Next Iron Chef I think we were lucky to get in.  I can’t wait!

Nice!! You know how to celebrate a birthday the right way! :) Glad to hear it's been so great. Oh, and I love to stay in hotel rooms too. It's especially fun when you aren't racing the next morning! :) My husband and I always say we are just going to stay in a hotel some night in downtown Pittsburgh (which is like 20 minutes from our house) just for the heck of it. :) Have a great weekend!!
